REGULATIONS

  1. The Afropolitan requires strict adherence to the laws of South Africa, including the restrictions of the Disaster Management Act, during the CORONA VIRUS COVID 19 LOCKDOWN.
  2. We do not condone any illegal activity on our premises.
  3. All guests whether for accommodation or private events are expected to behave in a civil manner and to avoid any disturbance or conduct that disturbs the peace and tranquillity of the environment. Guests that do adhere with these requirements will be surcharged accordingly and may be checked-out without a refund.
  4. The policies of the Afropolitan herein should be read in conjunction with its policies on Booking.Com and its other on-line platforms. The rule is that when booking directly with The Afropolitan, our direct policies as contained herein supersede that of any other platform. Whereas, where the guests make a booking through Booking.Com or any other similar platform, the rules therein will apply in addition to our policies herein.

ACCOMODATION

  1. Check-in time: 14H00
  2. Check-out time: 10H00
  3. Our suites are non-smoking. Hookah Pipes in rooms / suites are strictly prohibited. The Afropolitan has numerous terraces and patio areas close to suites in all the wings. Please, we’ll appreciate if these facilities are utilised for smoking.
  4.  Guests are welcome to enjoy the facilities in the entertainment area     (including swimming pool and Jacuzzi, roof-top lounge with token operated pool table) and Braai area.
  • However, please note that, except with prior arrangements, the outside entertainment areas are closed from 21H00 each day, after which the Guests may subscribe to the private lounge.
  • Also, sections of the Entertainment Area may be reserved for private functions.Free Secure Parking is provided on-site.

5.  Guests are expected to hand in their keys when leaving the premises to   avoid loss. There is a Charge of R250 levied for any lost key.

6.  Please note that additional guests beyond the maximum quota stipulated for any suite, will be charged R300/night per extra guest.

7. Hotel guests who are intending to host gatherings or private parties on the premises are expected to inform our management in advance, with clear specifications of their function, which may be subject to an additional charge (e.g., date, timeframe, number of attendees, specific areas to be reserved from them and any additional services required.

8. Please note that the room charges herein do not include meals, including breakfast, which are charged separately.

9. Guests are expected to settle their outstanding Bills in full before checking out.

10. Kindly note that where for operational reasons, the specific suite reserved for a guest is not available, our management may provide an upgrade or at least another suite of equivalent value.

11. Kindly note that children above the age of 12 are charged as adults.

MUSIC

  1. AMBIANCE music ONLY is allowed in the outside entertainment areas.
  2. Music at The Afropolitan is subject to municipal laws on noise levels for residential areas.
  3. All guests are expected to manage NOISE LEVELS throughout their stay to ensure that they are sensitive to other guests and the neighbourhood.
  4. The rule is that guests playing music in their suites should not disturb other guests in the nearby suites.

THE ENVIRONMENT

  1. Guests are to ensure that the premises are kept clean.
  2. Guests utilizing the common areas, are expected to clean up their areas. Refuse Bins are strategically placed across the premises.
  3. It is the duty of Clients hosting an event to break down their décor set-up and cart away all their décor pieces, including balloons and glitters etc.
  4. Guests are expected to conserve the use of resources including water and electricity, where possible.

PETS

  1. The Afropolitan is pet friendly.
  2. Guests are required to make prior arrangements with our managers when intending to bring a pet along, which may be allowed at an additional charge.
  3. Guests who have particular sensitivities to pets are expected to inform us a week in advance to make any necessary arrangements.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY:

  1. The Afropolitan observes a strict cancellation and a No Refund Policy whether for accommodation, events or meetings.
  2. This is because bookings are allotted on “First Pay, First Reserve Basis”.
  3. For meetings and events, we may where possible, assist the guest with a change of date to a date within a 30-day period, subject to availability. Please let us know and we will deal with the situation on a case-by-case basis.
  4. For accommodation however, we may change the dates for the guest to a date within a 30-day period. This is however based on the following conditions:
    1. Subject to availability of the facility booked by the client;
    2. Provided that the guest informs us 72 hours before the check-in date; and
  • This concession does not apply to bookings for peak seasons, public holidays and long weekends, as our facilities for these periods are usually sought for by customers well in advance.

DISCLAIMER

  1. Please Note That the Management of The Afropolitan will not be held responsible or accept any liability for any Theft, Damage, Fire or any other cause whatsoever on any vehicle or property whatsoever left on our premises. Vehicles and other property whatsoever left on our premises are at the Owners Own Risk.
  2. Guests enter the premises of The Afropolitan at Their Own Risk. The Management of The Afropolitan will not accept responsibility for any Injuries whatsoever to a person whosoever when entering our premises.

PRIVATE PARTIES

  1. Our culture demands that we promote an approach of resourcefulness in seeking appropriate, forward-thinking and cost-effective solutions in dealing with the various components of hosting your function.
  2. We prefer hosting REFINED CELEBRATIONS.
  3. It is the duty of the client that is hosting an event here to ensure adherence with our policies herein, Laws of South Africa, as well as the terms and conditions of his/her event, as specified by The Afropolitan in the quotation and/or invoice.
  4. Where the client opts to provide their own food, the client is expected to also provide their cutlery and crockery. Where these are requested from The Afropolitan, these will attract and extra surcharge.
  5. All clients hosting a function are required to provide a guest list of all their expected guests.
  6. Any additional guest after the Maximum agreed to by the parties for the event, will be charged on a pro-rata basis.
  7. A refundable security deposit may also be collected by our management, with regards to any breakages, damages or loss of any property or item provided by The Afropolitan for an event.

EFT PAYMENTS AND OTHER FINANCIAL MATTERS

  1. Our Banking Details are contained on the “Contact Us” page of our website (myafropolitan.com OR www.myafropolitan.co.za.
  2. The Afropolitan is not registered for VAT.
  3. Please note that it is your duty as a guest or customer to ensure that your payment clears before the service from the lodge is rendered.
  4. Please note also that it is your duty as a guest to ensure that your booking details are correct and the facilities you are booking for are in line with your requirements e.g., the location of our guest lodge.
  5. It is the Client’s duty to check that all information regarding the EFT is entered correctly on your banking App.
  6. When making EFT (bank transfer) payments, please use your Full Names as reference. Please send us a Proof of Payment by Email to TheAfropolitanHotel@gmail.com and Hello@myafropolitan.com.

  • : Name, address, phone number, email address, payment information, identification documents (e.g., passport, driver’s license), and any other details necessary for booking and staying at our lodge

INTERCOM

  1. Please note that all guests are expected to use the intercom to gain entry to the premises.
  2. HOOTING at the gate is strictly not allowed.
